The original Wayne's Green Tomato Relish started in the 1950s as a clever way for Wayne to use up the unripened green tomatoes that remained in his garden every fall. People liked it so much, that he decided to enter it into the Macon County Fair (Macon County, IL). There it garnered a first prize blue ribbon (hence the "award winning" part of our moniker). The relish is delicious on grilled and spicy foods and for appetizer, alone on a cracker or dolloped over cream cheese.

Our Story
The original Wayne's Green Tomato Relish started over 40 years ago as a clever way for Wayne to use up the unripened (ie. Green) tomatoes that remained in his garden every fall. People liked it so much, that he decided to enter it into the Macon County Fair (Decatur, IL). There it garnered a first prize blue ribbon (hence the "award winning" part of our moniker). The relish is delicious on all sorts of foods, crackers and cream cheese, fish, vegetable dishes, beef, chicken, pork, etc.We have much to be thankful for here at Wayne's. Our initial product, Wayne's Award Winning Green Tomato Relish, continues to do well .
